Energy reference meter IEM
The IEM enables efficient use in various charging infrastructure applications, such as DC wallboxes, high-power chargers, megawatt charging systems and other applications as well as smart metering point operation.
Installation flexibility
Thanks to the shunt-based measurement, the DC meter is highly compact. The display and the sensor unit can be installed up to 15 meters apart, which allows a high degree of flexibility during installation. This means that the sensor unit can also be installed in hard-to-reach areas with high ambient loads.
The top-hat rail design makes it easy to mount the display unit in a wide variety of housings, while the sensor unit can be attached via busbars.
The CAN interface allows the acquisition of real-time measurement data
(T, I, U, P, ...) in 10 ms.
Additional features:
- Accuracy class B according to EN 50470 (MID)
- Creation and internal storage of load transactions in standardized OCMF format
- MID certification, certification in accordance with the German Weights and Measures Act, LNE, UL certification
- Communication interfaces: OCMF (RJ45, Ethernet)
- (IEM-DCR only), CAN info for real-time measurement data, SML (RS485)
- Compensation options: 4-wire measurement, parametric compensation
- DC meter @ stationary energy storage

Intelligent DC measuring point operation
The SMGw retrieves and saves the 15-minute energy values of the DC energy meter via the LMN interface. The 15-minute energy values belong to a specific meter address and are authorized by the gateway administrator. External market participants are provided with the energy values via WAN.
